Excellent sounding solid state 'audiophile' integrated amplifier yet with tube flavor. High quality components used thru-out, from Jungson's patented transformer to the relay stepped digital volume control. Housed in a shock proof brushed aluminum housing. To achieve same looks and performance, any other solid state amps available on the market will cost at least 1.5 to 2 times as much.
The sound of the JA-88E is as close as we have heard to an affordable tube amp from an affordable solid state amp, with excellent sound staging and imaging. Tonal balanced is relaxed and accurate. This is an amp you can listen to for hours without fatigue, yet has plenty of power to handle even the most complex of musical passages.
Although at sub $1000 price range, this amp matched well with Harbeth speaker at 5 times of the amp price to complete the perfect British sound. It can also drive panel speakers without problem at decent level. Past customers have the above - it's not bragging :)
